  • The entire series began with Alps - Half Restored and was constantly expanded over four years. Here a selection of the maps that were produced in 2018.

Entfärbt / Decolorized, 2018, 3D-Karte entfärbt, 76,5 × 56,5 × 6 cm
"Bei der Arbeit Entfärbt (2018) ist ein Teil der zu sehenden Landkarte – es handelt sich um Norwegen – weggerieben. Der Künstler hat hier anders als in Alpen – halb restauriert in schneller Geste agiert. Dies ist meines Wissens der erste prozessuale Ansatz dieser Art in seinen Arbeiten. Lakonisch hängt ein Lappen mit der abgeriebenen grünen Farbe an einem Nagel neben der Landkarte. Der englische Titel klingt hier fast wie „decolonized“. Ein Zufall? Durch diesen ein- fachen „Kunstgriff “ gelingt es dem Künstler, unsere Sicht auf die Welt einen Moment zu irritieren und auf Wesentliches zu lenken." Valeria Schulte-Fischedick

"In Entfärbt (Decolorized) (2018), one part of a map of Norway has been rubbed off. Here, unlike in Alps—Half Restored, the artist has worked with quick gestures. To my knowledge, this is the first process-based approach of this kind in Vogl’s work. A rag with the rubbed-off green paint hangs laconically on a nail next to the map. The English title sounds almost like “decolonized”—a coincidence? This simple “trick” enables the artist to unsettle our view of the world for a moment and direct our attention towards its essence."
