Anlässlich seines 30-jährigen Bestehens initiierte das Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren einen Kettenbrief: Sechs Kulturakteurinnen aus der Region wurden eingeladen, jeweils sechs Künstler*innen zu nennen, deren Arbeiten sie gerne im Kunsthaus sehen möchten. Nadja Ostertag von der Kulturwerkstatt Kaufbeuren schlug mich vor.
So entstand die Ausstellung „long time no see“, die sechs Künstler*innen zusammenbringt, die alle einen Bezug zum Allgäu haben – auch wenn sie heute teilweise an anderen Orten leben und arbeiten.
On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren initiated a chain-letter project: six cultural practitioners from the region were invited to nominate six artists whose work they would like to see exhibited at the Kunsthaus. Nadja Ostertag from Kulturwerkstatt Kaufbeuren nominated me.
The exhibition “long time no see” brings together six artists who share a connection to the Allgäu region—even though many of them now live and work elsewhere.
Mein Beitrag: „Wolkenhaus Kaufbeuren“. Für die Ausstellung habe ich im Dialog mit der neuen Kunsthausleiterin Lisa Britzger eine Installation rund um meine Skulptur „Wolkenhaus Kaufbeuren“ entwickelt.
Die Arbeit stand ab 2014 am Salzmarkt in der Kaufbeurer Fußgängerzone und wurde – nach teils kontroversen Diskussionen – 2016 im Zuge von Sanierungsmaßnahmen abgebaut. Teile der ursprünglichen Skulptur sind nun Bestandteil der neuen Installation.
My contribution: “Wolkenhaus Kaufbeuren”. For this exhibition, I developed an installation in dialogue with the new director of Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren, Lisa Britzger, centered around my sculpture “Wolkenhaus Kaufbeuren.”
The sculpture stood at Salzmarkt Square in the pedestrian zone of Kaufbeuren starting in 2014. After considerable public debate, it was removed in 2016 during renovation work in the area and was never reinstalled. Parts of the original sculpture now form part of the new installation.
